Health Center Visitation Guidelines

Lifespace Communities, Inc. (“Lifespace”) and Friendship Village of South Hills continues to monitor local, state, and federal recommendations for opening our community’s Health Center to visitors.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) revised their Nursing Home Visitation Memorandum issued in September 2020. Indoor visitation is permitted for all residents that are not quarantined regardless of vaccination status except for a few circumstances when visitation should be limited due to a high risk of COVID-19 transmission. Visits will continue to be scheduled by appointment. Please continue to email the Lifestyle Department at FVSH-HCVisits@lifespacecommunities.com or call 724-941-3100 and request to speak with the Lifestyle Department in the Health Center.

During the initial phase of the re-opening, the Health Center is permitting up to four visitors per resident with no more than two simultaneous visits occurring at the same time. Visits will remain at 30 minutes to allow all residents to have visits. Weather permitting outdoor visits are still preferred. Our designated area for indoor visits is in the Health Center private dining room, however, in room visits are permitted. Attached is information from CMS that may help answer common questions about visiting family members.

As we continue to carefully monitor and evaluate all county, state and federal activity related to this pandemic, we have started to open various areas of the community. We will continue to evaluate the effectiveness of all our safety protocols. Our goal is to confidently open all areas of the community for everyone, but we must use an abundance of caution as we return to “the new normal” operations of our community.

Thank you again for your continued patience and support.  We are honored to serve each one of you.
